Customized Cross Fired Furnace 380V Glass Melting Furnace in Glass Industry
1. Brief Introduction
A cross-fired furnace is an industrial heating system where burners are positioned on opposing walls to create a cross-flow of flames and heat, optimizing temperature uniformity and combustion efficiency in applications like metal processing or material heating.1 This design is integral to modern gas-fired heating processes, which prioritize energy efficiency and emission reductions, such as carbon dioxide, while maintaining output levels and avoiding increases in other controlled pollutants.
Cross-fired furnaces have a larger combustion zone due to the lateral burner arrangement. Cross-fired furnaces can be designed with larger overall dimensions. The typical melting capacity ranges from 250 to 500 t/d, but it is also possible to reach 750 t/d or even higher. Similar to end-fired furnace, regenerative cross-fired furnaces ensure low energy consumption and high flexibility in load variation through the heat recovery system. The energy consumption of cross-fired furnaces is usually slightly higher than that of end-fired furnaces.
The direction of flames of a cross fired furnace is from one side to the other side, which is across the width of the furnace and perpendicular with the flow direction of glass liquid.
2. Feature
1 | High productivity |
2 | Longitudinal temperature adjustable |
Key features include:
3. Structure of furnace
1 | Melting section |
2 | Breast wall |
3 | Crown |
4 | Port |
5 | Regenerator |
6 | Cooling section |
7 | Flue channel |
8 | Double deck reversing unit |
9 | Waste heat treatment system |
4. Main component
The melting tank is combined with melting area and clearing area.
The regenerator as a waste heat recovery device, the combustion air flows through the regenerator, after preheated, it will arrive at the furnace through the port.
It is the place where the fuel is mixed with the preheated air, also an access for the preheated air in to the furnace and exhausting the
waste gas out.
